What about Kid A ed, what about Kid A!!!!!! Surely an automatic in the top ten at least! Also Would definitely including Ellen Allien and Apparat's Orchestra of Bubbles in there, along with Apparat's Walls. Nice job though, love the inclusion of The Streets! How influential at the time!!
ReplyDeleteFerg, I have not given Kid A the listening time it obviously deserves, for one reason or another, and that explains why it does not feature. However, 'Idiotheque' is one of the greatest pieces of music I have ever heard. I know it has been included (and in many cases tops) the majority of "best of" lists of the decade but I did not want to include an album that I didn't have a genuine grá for, at the moment at least. Please do not take this in any way as detracting from what is obviously a sublime album but I think that the reasoning behind its number one ranking in some polls is shaky at best (I can elaborate if you like). This is just my list so albums have been included or ommitted on the basis of my personal listening. It would be great to have lists from your good self and Eoin up here too so get on it!
