Passion Pit - Chunk of Change EP

Destined for big things this year, Passion Pit have been hotly tipped by just about everyone. Featuring on the longlist for the Sound of 2009, the Boston natives will not surprise many if they are named as the BBC critics choice. Their breakthrough track 'Sleepyhead' has dominated dancefloors and playlists worldwide. A catchy electro track with a punchy vocal from frontman Michael Angelakos, it was apparently written for his girlfriend as a gift. Their Chunk of Change EP offers more of an insight into what these guys can offer. Check it out for yourself at the download link below.

Tracklisting:
1. I've Got Your Number
2. Smile Upon Me
3. Cuddle Fuddle

  1. Hi Ed, what do you think of these? I am not very convinced that this will make much waves this year really. Think the vocal is a bit annoying and the whole thing is a bit up in the air, could do with being more crispy. I like the fact that the big track sounds a bit like a high-pitched version of the chanting in Chris de Burgh's "A Spaceman Came Travelling"!!!!

  2. I have to say I like 'Sleepyhead'. It is original and touches on many different sounds. I was skeptical at first, simply because they were being revered in god-like tones. You can not ignore the amount of space dedicated to them on blogs etc. On that basis alone, I can see them having a sizeable impact. I'm at very early stages of listening to the EP, it needs more time before I'll fully make up my mind. Like I said the EP gives a chance to see what else they have in their arsenal.

  3. have to agree sleepyhead is good but mainly because of the whole spaceman cam etravelling sound. Manners however launches them far beyond this ep
